WHAT IS THE BICYCLE FRIENDLY BUSINESS PROGRAM?
● The Bicycle Friendly Business program helps market your business to bike riders, tourists, and locals.
● As a BFB participant you will receive exclusive promotion via the RCR website which will highlight your BFB profile. This will be enhanced by regular press releases as you are accredited as a BFB.
● The BFB program is an opportunity to help increase your company’s presence and involvement in community activities and bicycling events.
● The BFB program supports the entire biking community through the Routt County Riders non-profit organization. This helps continue efforts towards making us a bike-friendly destination which will enhance tourism.
● The BFB program increases opportunities for employees' volunteerism and community involvement through RCR events, programs, and activities.
● The BFB program allows you to quantify your level of support for biking beyond cash contributions, such as sponsorship of events. The BFB program recognizes corporate or individual membership, product donations, employee volunteerism, as well as your financial commitment
● The BFB program allows you to leverage existing sponsorships combined with volunteerism, corporate Routt County Riders membership, and other bike friendly attributes into a year-long message in the community about the Bike Friendly attributes of your business.

Registration:
If you have a corporate membership to RCR the BFB Program is Free, otherwise a registration fee of $50 is required.
WHAT DO I RECEIVE FOR MY BFB MEMBERSHIP?
Your businesses will receive recognition in the form of a die-cut logo decal indicating your company's participation level and year of accreditation.
RCR WEBSITE
As a BFB member your business will be highlighted on the Routt County Riders website with promotion, designation, and a profile of your business that highlights your event sponsorships, your contributions, and your employee participation.
SIGNAGE
BFB members will receive banner recognition and promotion at Routt County Riders events and other BFB-sponsored bicycle events.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Your company BFB membership will be announced to the community with regular press releases in The Steamboat Today, the Steamboat Chamber newsletter, and the RCR website.
PROMOTION
The BFB program offers an opportunity to participate in promotions specifically aimed at local cycling participants and visitors to Steamboat who are here for cycling. As Steamboat works to develop its profile as a cycling destination, Bicycle Friendly Businesses will be an integral component of welcoming cyclists to Steamboat and reminding them that we are Bike Friendly
INFLUENCE
Through your participation in the BFB program you can help influence other businesses to contribute to cycling. Your participation will help raise awareness of the program and show others how they can help. We can achieve more together then we can individually, and one of the aims of the BFB program is to build a cohesive Bike Friendly Business Community.
HOW DO I BECOME A BFB MEMBER?
Businesses are evaluated based on their BFB activities in the preceding 12 months, and the level of their recognition will be assessed on the value of their contributions:
$500 - $1999 Green member BFB
$2000 - $4499 Bronze member BFB
$4500 - $6999 Silver member BFB
$7000 - $9999 Gold member BFB
Over $10,000 Platinum member BFB
Your business will earn credits for:
Bicycle event sponsorship
Corporate memberships
Volunteer hours
Paid volunteer hours
Company employee participation
All of the Bicycle-Friendly attributes of your business will be evaluated.
